Company Profile

Chadoak Pty Ltd is a progressive company, which started as a family plumbing business in 1948 and has continued to expand throughout the years to its present size today.

Chadoak Plumbing and Drainage has a reputation within the industry, which is beyond reproach, we are an established and sought after plumbing, drainage and live sewer contractor. We employ about 45-50 people including one full time administration manager, part time clerical support and full time mechanic. Over the years we have endeavoured to upgrade our professional skills and training by continuing to send our staff to relevant courses such as Occupational Health and safety, along with any special courses being run by trade organisations and material suppliers to keep abreast of new materials and technology. Leak Detection

Leaks in water supply systems are often hard to detect. Water travels within the 'trench' that the pipe was originally laid in, it can seep from the trench and be dispersed into the surrounding earth. Chadoak has recently purchased a revolutionary hydrogen leak tester. The leak detection system uses a non-flammable nitrogen/hydrogen mixture as a tracer gas. The gas is added to the water supply system, it leaks through the broken pipes and rises above ground. This is then detected by the leak tester. This leak detection method reduces costs associated with excavations by pinpointing the exact location of the leak, even through concrete.

Staff Training:

Apprentices:

2006 MBA FOUNDATION AWARD WINNER: AWARDED TO COMPANIES WITH AN ONGOING COMMITMENT TO YOUTH EMPLOYMENT AND APPRENTICESHIPS

Two of Chadoak's Directors, Jim and Peter Griffin, were themselves apprentices. We currently employ eight apprentice plumbers. Three of our former apprentices are now managers and four are senior supervisors. Our apprentices gain experience in a wide variety of jobs and the ability to multi skill gives Chadoak a competitive advantage. Chadoak’s philosophy that all employees are part of the family is an indication of how well we treat our apprentices.

Machinery / Equipment:

We employ our own service mechanic and all equipment is maintained at regular intervals to ensure its correct function.
