Hot water scalds easily - 60 degrees Celsius can cause third degree burns in only 1 second. The 'Code of Practice for Thermostatic Mixing Valves in health Care Facilities' 1990 requires proprietors of health care facilities to ensure the temperature of hot water at each bath and shower is controlled to avoid the risk of scalding. TMVs do this by automatically mixing hot and cold water so the temperature is regulated. Log books are required to be kept on site to prove testing and maintenance procedures have been adhered to. |
Chadoak Plumbing & Drainage have licensed plumbers available for Commissioning, Testing, Service and Repair of Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs).
