Confined Space Services

Chadoak now offers confined space services!
What is confined space?
Confined space is an enclosed or partially enclosed space, which may
contain potentially harmful levels of contaminants, unsafe levels of oxygen or
factors causing engulfment.
What are the hazards and how do we
overcome it?
There are major hazards involved with working in a confined space,
which can be life-threatening to the operator and others in the area. These
include the lack or excess of oxygen, toxic gases, vapours and fumes, slips or
falls, explosive levels of gases or dust, and engulfment.
Our employees reduce these risks by following a set of rules and procedures to
enable them to work safely and efficiently, such as having at least 3
experienced and well trained men present at the site at all times, employing
safety harnesses, and proper use and service of machinery.
Our senior staff have undergone specialist training, so they are aware of the procedures and hazards associated with works in confined spaces such as manholes, pits and sumps, sewers, boilers, and storage tanks. This training enables our employees to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations when performing these tasks. They are adept in CPR, detecting levels of gases, and working safely and efficiently.
We are an approved "Live Sewer" contractor for branch constructions with South East Water, Yarra Valley Water, and City West Water. We gladly offer our confined space services to other plumbers who may not want the overhead cost of specialised training for the few jobs they may do in a year.
